ABU Post-UTME Screening Exercise for 2024/2025 Academic Session

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Zaria has announced the schedule for its Post-UTME screening exercise for the 2024/2025 academic session.

This screening is a crucial step for candidates seeking admission into the university’s various undergraduate programs.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Score a minimum of 180 in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME): This is the baseline score required to qualify for the screening.
  • Select Ahmadu Bello University as their first-choice institution: Only candidates who have chosen ABU as their primary choice are considered for the screening process.

Registration Details

  • Registration Period: The registration portal is open from 19th August 2024 and will close on 30th September 2024. It’s essential to complete the registration within this timeframe to be considered for the screening.
  • Registration Fee: A non-refundable fee of Two Thousand Naira (₦2,000) is required for the screening exercise.

Registration Process

  1. Access the Registration Portal: Visit the ABU Post-UTME registration portal at https://portal.abu.edu.ng/forms/putme.
  2. Login Credentials: Use your JAMB Registration Number and State of Origin as your username and password, respectively, to log in.
  3. Payment of Screening Fee: After logging in, generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) slip. You can make the payment online using an ATM card or at any commercial bank nationwide.
  4. Complete the Registration Form: Fill in the required details accurately and upload necessary documents, including your recent passport photograph and O’Level results.
  5. Print the Scheduling Slip: After successful registration, ensure you print your scheduling slip, which contains details about your screening date, time, and venue.

Screening Schedule

The Post-UTME screening is scheduled to take place from 25th to 30th September 2024. The exercise will be conducted across various faculties on specified dates:

  • 25th September 2024 (Wednesday): Faculties of Social Sciences and ABU Business School.
  • 27th September 2024 (Thursday): Faculties of Administration, Agriculture, Arts, Education, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Veterinary Medicine.
  • 28th September 2024 (Friday): Faculties of Engineering and Environmental Design.
  • 30th September 2024 (Saturday): Faculties of Allied Health Sciences and Law.
  • 30th September 2024 (Monday): Faculties of Basic Medical Sciences, Basic Clinical Sciences, and Dental Surgery.

Screening Venues

Candidates are to report to any of the following venues for the screening exercise:

  • Iya Abubakar Institute of Information and Communication Technology (IAIICT)
  • Distance Learning Centre (DLC)
  • Computer-Based Tests (CBT) Centre.

Required Documents

On the day of the screening, candidates must bring along:

  • Original JAMB registration printout
  • Post-UTME registration printout

Failure to present these documents may result in disqualification from the screening exercise.

Additional Information

  • Direct Entry (DE) Candidates: DE candidates are required to register online and upload their results. They are not expected to participate in the Post-UTME screening but must ensure their registration is completed within the stipulated period.
  • Subject Combination Verification: Candidates are advised to verify their UTME subject combinations to ensure they align with their chosen course requirements. Incorrect subject combinations may necessitate a change to a more appropriate program on the JAMB portal.
  • COVID-19 Protocols: All candidates are expected to adhere strictly to COVID-19 safety protocols, including wearing face masks and maintaining social distancing, during the screening exercise.
