ATBU Post-UTME/Direct Entry (DE) Screening for 2024/2025 Academic Session

Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) in Bauchi has announced the commencement of its Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) screening for the 2024/2025 academic session.

This is a crucial step for candidates aspiring to join ATBU’s diverse academic community.

Eligibility Criteria

  • First Choice Selection: ATBU must be chosen as the first choice institution in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
  • Minimum UTME Score: A minimum score of 160 in the UTME is required.
  • O’ Level Requirements: Candidates must have at least five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or GCE exams.
  • Direct Entry Candidates: Applicants with relevant A-Level qualifications (such as NCE, ND, HND, or IJMB) who selected ATBU as their first choice are eligible for the DE screening.
  • Age Requirement: Candidates must be at least 16 years old by the time of admission.

Application Procedure

Eligible candidates should follow these steps to apply for the ATBU Post-UTME/DE screening:

  1. Visit the ATBU Screening Portal: Access the university’s screening portal at http://screening.atbu.edu.ng.
  2. Generate RRR Number: Use your JAMB registration number as the username to generate the Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) number.
  3. Payment of Screening Fee: Proceed to any bank of your choice to pay a non-refundable screening fee of Two Thousand Naira (₦2,000.00) using the generated RRR.
  4. Complete the Online Application: Fill in all required information accurately. If awaiting results, indicate ‘AR’ in the grade section. Upload a recent passport-sized photograph as specified.
  5. Print Acknowledgement Slip: After submission, download and print the online screening acknowledgement slip. This document is essential for the physical screening process.

Important Dates

  • Application Period: The portal will be open for two (2) weeks, from Thursday, 15th August to Sunday, 29th August 2024, to enable prospective candidates to update their bio-data.

Additional Information

  • O’ Level Result Upload: All candidates are advised to upload their O’ level results on their JAMB profile to facilitate the admission process.
  • Physical Screening: The original copies of your credentials will be verified during the physical screening exercise. Ensure all documents are authentic and readily available.
  • Awaiting Results: Candidates with awaiting results should indicate ‘AR’ in the appropriate grade area during the application and must provide the results during the physical screening.
